Stinkie FAQ

Question: Answer:
What breed is Stinkie? We got Stinkie from a shelter, not a breeder. According to the shelter, Stinkie is an American Shorthair, but we don't think that's the whole story.
How old is Stinkie? Stinkie is estimated to be around ten years old. The shelter acquired Stinkie when he was already an adult cat.
When did you get Stinkie? Stinkie joined our family in September 2020. I brought him home on the BART.
How did Stinkie get his name? No comment.
How did Stinkie lose his eye? Stinkie arrived at the shelter in Walnut Creek where we got him from after being evacuated from another shelter farther north during California's record-setting August Complex wildfires of 2020. (Prior to that, he was a stray.) When Stinkie arrived in the Bay Area, he had already suffered damage to his right eye so severe that it ultimately had to be removed. The shelter veterinarians were unsure of the true cause of the injury, but reported that it was either trauma or infection.
Is stinkie an indoor cat or an outdoor cat? Stinkie is an indoor cat.
What is Stinkie's personality like? Stinkie is shy but experiences fomo and likes to be where everyone else is. He likes his personal space and often hides when there are new guests or a commotion in the house, but is never mean or aggressive. He is very sweet once he opens up to you.
What are Stinkie's hobbies? Stinkie loves to eat and nap. (He takes after me.)
What is Stinkie's favorite toy? Nothing gets Stinkie as excited as a simple length of yarn.
Can Stinkie do any tricks? No. Can you do any tricks?
